  : The room I had was comfortable, clean, and smelled wonderful, as well as very close to WCU where my son is going to school. I liked that I wasn't forced to have a minimum stay of more than one night as I was coming in to town to pick my son up for his Fall break and only needed a one night layover.
  : The morning of my check-out someone called my room phone and then hung up as I tried to get to the phone to answer it. A moment later I heard a man's voice in a foreign language and my door was opened assuming by this man ad it was an ilder man. My son had come back to my room as the previous night he wanted to leave campus and stay with me so we could head home more quickly. I had just finished getting dressed and my son was still in the bathroom when my room got entered. The person closed my door quickly without apologizing upon seeing me at the phine beside my bed. I got my son to hurry up as I realized it was housekeeping, but it was 30min before our required check out time (10:30am, and check out was 11am). I went to the desk to check out shortly after this occurrence and asked if I was incorrect about the 11am check-out time. The clerk in the office said I was correct and then asked if it was an older man that entered my room. I said yes and proceeded to tell her that my phone had rang just prior to this entry without knocking or announcing that it was housekeeping like other hotels, and she said she had not called my room. I assume it was the housekeeper that had for some reason called to see if we were still in the room rather than waiting for 11am and/or a check-out confirmation before entering our room. This alone turned a rather wonderful experience into one that may make me think twice next time about staying here because for me as a single mom that usually travels alone, it's imperative that I feel safe when the door to my room is locked. I did not have the arm lock above the door know latch closed and I will from this day forward remember to swing the lock arm forward to engage it. I didn't think I would have cause to not trust my door lock. The clerk apologized profusely, but once my safety and trust is shaken, it's hard for me to recover from it.
