Chihuly Collection, St Petersburg, FL
The Chihuly Collection is a large and impressive art collection of glass sculptures and paintings by American artist Dale Chihuly. The permanent collection is located in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The collection was gifted to the Russian government by businessman Peter L. Paulson. This gift was controversial because it did not include any Russian artwork, but rather pieces from throughout the world.
The Chihuly Collection comprises over 1,000 works of art, including some of the most famous glass sculptures in the world, such as "Blue Poles" and "Window on the Water". The paintings include scenes from nature, like seascapes and clouds, as well as more abstract works. Some of the most recognisable pieces in the collection are "Crystal Vase", "Water Lilies", and "Sunflower".
