The Ca' d'Zan Mansion occupies a prime location in Sarasota, Florida - on the edge of downtown and just blocks from the bay. The mansion was built in 1925. The couple commissioned architect George Thomas Zimmer to design the mansion, which featured extensive use of marble, copper, and other imported materials.
The Ziegler's lived in the mansion until 1956, when they sold it to Dr. Louis A. Kelsay, who turned it into a hospital for juvenile delinquents. In 1974, the mansion was purchased by the city of Sarasota and restored as a museum. Today, the Ca' d'Zan Mansion is open for tours and features exhibits on Ziegler's life and work as well as period furnishings and artwork.
