Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco is a one-of-a-kind marine life center that brings together the wonders and beauty of the ocean environment. Located on Pier 39, Aquarium of the Bay offers an incredible array of interactive and educational experiences, allowing visitors to explore two main galleries: Under the Bay and Touch the Bay.

Under the Bay is home to more than 20,000 aquatic animals, including seven species of sharks, gigantic bat rays, bright orange garibaldi fish, transparent jellies and more. The 300-foot long tunnel showcases over 250 species native to San Francisco's own waters; a spectacular view unique to Aquarium of the Bay. Also located in Under the Bay is an interactive Discovery Lab where guests can explore sea creatures up close with microscopes and touch tanks – all under guidance from professional aquarists.

In Touch the Bay gallery, visitors get a chance to meet sea stars, sea cucumbers, anemones and other gentle animals found in tide pools along California’s coastlines. The interactive exhibits allow guests to experience local marine life firsthand with unforgettable hands-on activities. Guests may even be lucky enough to see rescued rehabilitated sea otters at play!
