Staybridge Suites Reno Nevada an IHG Hotel

Disappointing

  : It was cleanish
  : When asked where their ice machine was, I was informed that my freezer in my refrigerator in my room had an ice maker. It was not on. So, in the 109 degree heat of Reno, NV, I had to wait for my ice maker to make 6 cubes of ice. Solidly ridiculous. When I checked in the attendant told me I used Booking.com, but that I shouldn’t because they take a percentage of the sale and I pay more, and that I need to sign up for IHG rewards so I get free parking and free internet. She was “doing me a favor” to get my “free parking and free internet”. But…. The internet and parking were already free. There wasn’t even a password on the internet, and she didn’t give me a parking pass or require any type of identification as to which vehicle was mine. She must get commission on everyone she can get to sign up for IHG membership or something, but I really hated it. They apparently had three luggage trolleys, but were never available when we needed them. So we took multiple trips to and from our car in the 109 degree weather, with one of us also holding our toddler, only to be rewarded with absolutely no ice. But we did have the possibility of ice in 4 hours. We booked a double queen room and the path between the bed/door/bathroom was really tight. We got caught on the door all the time. Because we had a toddler who had been in the car all day, we walked up and down the halls with her— and had a lot of time to see the trash and dirt on the carpet along the hallways.The air conditioning on the first floor was practically non- existent. But that’s okay, maybe the possibility of ice in your room in 4 hours will cool you down? To be fair, we were on the third floor and it was a very pleasant temperature and our AC worked wonderfully. Otherwise, breakfast was nice.

  : Centralize location that is farther away from the main crowds, yet close enough to get to.
  : There are no room cleaning on the weekend (that caught us off guard) - The carpeting around the hotel can really be more clean. While dogs are allowed, we did not see any waste bag refill at ANY of the waste post.
