The Amethyst Beach Motel

  : Bed linens were clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. Close to the beach.
  : Desperately in need of remodel. With the resort fee and parking fee, our stay cost about $250/night.Wifi was included in the $18/day resort fee but each channel was always at capacity so we couldn't connect to any of the 4 wifi hotspots on either of our nights.The walkway to our room was uneven, each layer of flooring was in varying levels of decay. There were many lawn chairs around the pool, but they felt flimsy for a person of average size.Our curtains were broken and the sheer curtain rod fell down the first time I opened it. The TV remote was somehow sticky. The refrigerator had a funk to it. The mattress cratered in the center after a couple hours. The bathroom toilet was surprisingly small and drained very slowly. The tub was cracked and chipped. Water pressure was good but the water never quite got hot.The parking lot rented out to the public during the day and while there was always room, it was a little annoying having to get out of the car to move cones out of the way so we could park.
