Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is a modern and contemporary art museum located in Miami, Florida. It first opened its doors to the public in December 2013, and quickly became recognized as one of the most important contemporary art institutions in the United States. Serving as a cultural hub for the city, PAMM plays a pivotal role in diversifying the cultural landscape of South Florida by connecting audiences to international artists from around the world.
The museum occupies two levels of an architecturally dynamic building overlooking Biscayne Bay. The building was designed by famed architects Herzog & de Meuron, who were inspired by Miami’s tropical climate and created an open structure protected from sun and rain with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow visitors to enjoy expansive views of Biscayne Bay. Inside, PAMM features 30,000 square feet of gallery space used to house its ever-changing collection of modern and contemporary artworks ranging from painting and sculpture to photography and video installations.
In addition to its permanent collection, PAMM also hosts a number of temporary exhibitions throughout the year that feature artwork from international artists such as Ai Weiwei, Yayoi Kusama, Robert Rauschenberg, Gabriel Orozco, Lygia Clark and more.
The museum also offers an array of educational programs for both children and adults such as artist talks/lectures; hands-on workshops; film screenings; family art days; yoga on the terrace; concert series; curatorial tours; school field trips; special events including openings and more. Additionally, PAMM regularly collaborates with local art galleries such as Locust Projects allowing for further engagement with Miami's vibrant art community.
Since its inception, Pérez Art Museum Miami has become one of South Florida's most beloved cultural attractions—a place where people can come together to celebrate visual arts from around the world while embracing their local culture in one beautiful setting.
