Roanoke Island Inn

  : Beautiful inn, especially the outdoor space (garden and upstairs porch) in the middle of Manteo- which places you in the middle of the Outer Banks (in driving distance of both North and South ends). The owners and innkeepers are lovely and very helpful. My room was a great size with a comfortable bed, I faced the garden, which was lovely. Awesome surrounding neighborhood, right outside the inn is a dock which is a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Bikes are provided for guests to explore. Beverages (hot and cold) and snacks are accessible at all times from innkeeper's pantry. Well-stocked library and parlor to read- and socialize in. Great airconditioner in the rooms.
  : Rooms lack a few things I'd expect at the price: a robe, slippers and body lotion. There is no housekeeping during your stay. Breakfast is a little simpler than I had imagined (personal preference) and doesn't start until 7:30. Both shower and TV were a little difficult to understand/use.
