It is a bronze statue that depicts Abraham Lincoln seated in a chair and was sculpted by Gutzon Borglum, who created Mount Rushmore. The statue is highly detailed, with folds and wrinkles on the coat carefully carved out with intricate detail. It is located in front of the government office building in downtown Lincoln City and overlooks the city skyline.
The statue itself stands 25 feet tall, with him sitting on a granite base that has five steps leading up to it. Above his head is inscribed "In Memory of Abraham Lincoln" while his right hand holds a scroll with these words etched into it: “This nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom.” To either side of him stand two bronze statues - one depicting George Washington, the other Thomas Jefferson - symbolizing democracy and justice respectively.
