The Kansas City T-Bones are a minor league baseball team that plays in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. The team is based in Kansas City, Missouri, and plays its home games at T-Bones Stadium. The T-Bones are owned by Eisentrager Enterprises, LLC.
The team was founded in 1993 as the Duluth-Superior Dukes, an expansion team in the Northern League. The Dukes played their home games at Wade Stadium in Duluth, Minnesota. The team was named after the former Duluth-Superior Dukes minor league baseball team that played in the old Northern League from 1959 to 1971.
In 2002, the Dukes moved to Kansas City and became the T-Bones. The name was chosen through a contest held by the team. The stadium the team plays in was built in 2003 and is located in the Village West area of Wyandotte County, Kansas.
The Kansas City T-Bones won the American Association championship in 2006 and 2008.
