Coconino National Forest in Flagstaff, Arizona is a U.S. National Forest covering 1.8 million acres of public land across northern Arizona and the southwestern edge of the state. The area is managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service as part of the larger Coconino National Forest system that includes Kaibab National Forest and Prescott National Forest. It is one of six national forests in Arizona and forms part of the Mogollon Rim, a massive escarpment that separates the Colorado Plateau from its surrounding mountain ranges, which span from Central New Mexico to Northern Arizona.
