Private Ellijay Cabin with Deck Fire Pit and Amenities

  : The area of Ellijay was amazing, there are endless trails, waterfalls, plenty of shops, and restaurants, The area also has tubing, kayaking, horseback riding, and ziplines. In reference to the cabin, the A/C worked, the hot water was sufficient for a family of six, which is expected. the decor and furniture were adequate but obviously on the cheaper end. The wash and dry were convenient. The fire pit area was nice.
  : The gate policy changed the day prior to our arrival and we required a code to enter the gated community, which we were not provided, till the next day. The maid (a nice lady) was misinformed of our arrival and still cleaning an hour after our check-in time. The previous renters left what smelled like something died in the outside trash that lingered for days. The floor is noticeably sloped in the kitchen and MB to the extent that pots where sliding on the oven while cooking. There are roaches in the kitchen and bug spray under the counter, so most likely no exterminator contract for the property. So we kept dry food in our coolers and washed everything before we used it. There is a large dead pine tree a foot from the house with limbs hanging over the roof. The property is covered with deadfall, 3-foot tall weeds, and uprooted trees, which is the only view that you have. The lights flickered when the dishwasher or wash/dryer were operating. There was no smoke detector in the kitchen. When we attempted to use the oven it severely smoked and unusable. Oddly the MB door has glass panes so there is no privacy to change. Additionally, the master bath seems to be a poorly designed add-on, there is no air vent so open the window when taking a hot shower. The shower faucet is not properly secured and comes away from the wall. Finally, the throw rugs are in desperate need of a cleaning.

  : The community the property is located in was excellent.
  : The guest contact never at any point answered our phone calls or emails from the time we booked up to the point our stay had ended. We arrived at the location after 4pm and found the lady still cleaning the cabin so it was not ready on time. The yard was dirty and had trash strewn about. It was also littered with dead trees and branches. The fire pit was rusted out and was unusable. The light fixtures on the porch were half full of dead bugs. The inside of the cabin was poorly furnished. The furniture was cheap. The appliances were cheap. Even the kitchen utensils were cheap. The air conditioner was noisy when it was running and the thermostat kept changing the temperature setting on its own, so I had to constantly keep checking the setting. The bathroom fixtures were obviously purchased from a mobile home supply house because they were tiny and very flimsy. The cabin was a big disappointment but it doesn't end there. We tried to enter the community again the same day we arrived at about 10pm and were told we were not on the guest list for the property we had rented! The guard let us go in but said we must contact our guest contact ( Shad Hill ) and tell him to put our names on the list. I mentioned above that we never heard from the guy so the list was a struggle the whole time we were there. We had to deal with that crap every time we left the community and tried to get back in. It was ridiculous.

  : There was no TV or internet. The sewer gas smell in the upstairs bathroom permeated the whole place without the fans running all the time. Repairs needed to drawer, counter top in kitchen. Grill filthy, Roaches. Only 4 chairs to sit at dining table. Filthy ceiling fans. Floors filthy.
