Dealey Plaza in Dallas is an iconic landmark and the site of one of the most notorious events in American history - the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Located in downtown Dallas, the plaza consists of a grassy knoll and a pergola with two flagpoles, as well as two stone benches, a water fountain and a sculpture depicting three roses in memory of Kennedy's life and legacy.
Even more prominent is the Texas School Book Depository building, which was from where Lee Harvey Oswald fired his shots at President Kennedy on November 22, 1963. The building now serves as a museum to commemorate JFK's life and death. Additionally, Dealey Plaza is home to several other interesting landmarks such as Historic Old Red Courthouse and Grassy Knoll Monument. This area also hosts various annual events such as JFK Memorial Ceremony every November or Christmas Parade that draw hundreds of visitors each year from all around the country to pay their respects or enjoy holiday festivities.
With its deep historical significance and stunning architecture, Dealey Plaza remains one of Dallas’s most visited tourist attractions for both locals and visitors alike.
